Fleetwind Kennels have become well known and highly appreciated for quality Salukis, proved in the ring through top awards: multiple Best in Show, BJIS, BPIS, BVIS awards and ranking near the top of the annual Animal Talk Top 100 show leaderboard, in addition to being awarded two of the most prestigious awards in South Africa, KUSA National Dog and KUSA National Puppy on more than one occasion.
As well as importing Salukis from top kennels around the world, Fleetwind Salukis can be found in Australia, Germany, Ukraine, Dubai, Thailand, Russia, Scotland, Canada and USA.
At Fleetwind, we care very much for our breed and only breed puppies occasionally for the specific purpose of progressing in our breeding programme – never for public demand and never for commercial gain.

The History Of The Saluki: The Royal Dog Of Egypt
The Saluki, also known as the Persian Greyhound or Gazelle Hound, originate from the Middle East and are believed to have been found across the region in: Persia (Iran), Syria, Egypt, Anatolia, Mesopotamia, and Arabia. The Saluki holds the Guinness World Record for the Oldest Dog Breed. In fact, it has been long believed to be one of the most ancient breeds, with depictions of dogs closely resembling Salukis appearing on Egyptian tombs as early as 2100 B.C.E. (±4,000 years ago).
